The first day of my stay was officially here.Doris accompanied me to Theo's hostel. Where I walked in on him talking with a girl. Doris then hid from being seen by Theo. As I moved closer to where he was with the girl. I stood beside them pretending to be texting someone but I was listening to what they had been saying. Few minutes into eavesdropping on their convo I got very angry and had wanted to react abusefully towards him and the girl both but I learned as a reporter that nothing should ever blow my cover. He was proposing to this lady. And then I dropped my phone when I heard him respond to her when she asked him if he was dating." Naaa I don't have a girl here. You will be my first. And I don't have some back home.They are not that appealing to me." My hand felt light and faint when I heard that and I dropped my phone involuntarily. Theo turned and picked it for me and handed it over to me. "Here you go bro" He said. I tried hard to avoid eye contact with him. "I'm Theo by the way. But u can call me Teeto. What about u my man"He introduced. Still trying to avoid eye contact as I knew he would recognise me I responded " I'm Ramsey". "Nice to meet u man" He said. With that I left there. I was angry and wanted to do something bad to him. Then something magical happened. I runned into a guy,spilling all his books on the floor.
I rushed to help him pick them up. "Why don't u watch where u are going" he screamed. "Sorry" I apologised as we picked the books off the ground. I then stole a glance at him when we were done. He was quite a gentleman, not that tall but taller than I was,dark in complexion with a dark upper lip and a pink lower lip. He had glasses on and had a neatly cropped haircut.With a nice beard and five five. Before he could rush off I extended my hands and nearly broke my cover. "I'm Sta....stay.... I mean am Stable P but my real name is Ramsey".I said nervously, I could tell he didn't want to speak but he shook hands with me And responded " I'm Gilbert, later man" Then rushed of leaving me standing there. I looked at him while he left. And I could feel all the anger I felt for Theo slowly diminishing. I left towards Doris's hostel as thoughts of Gilbert kept dashing through my mind. I didn't even realize Doris calling me till I entered her room and she followed me inside. She asked me how it went with spying on Theo. I answered her but she noticed I was still in a good mood. And asked why Theo's unfaithful acts is not pissing me off. All I said was " Why waste time repairing an old car when u can clearly afford a new one".My proverb left Doris with a confused look on her face.
Later that day whiles strolling with Doris, I saw Gilbert. Doris knew I had seen the guy I talked to her about all night cause of how my face lightened up. "Really?Him? Gilbert? Come on that guy is so glued to his books he will never notice u.He hardly speaks to girls."She said. "Dont forget am Ramsey...and am a man" I joked. I approached Gilbert and once again apologised for what happened last time and asked if we could be friends. He wasn't that Unsociable to me. I guess its cause he thought I was a guy. I offered to buy him lunch. To which he agreed. I got to know him a bit more. He was an admin student in his final year and was single. Just a year older than me and is not interested in any relationships cause he believed he wasn't good looking enough to be accepted by any girl." Whaaaat? Are u serious. I will....I.... I mean any girl would kill to have a guy like you" I said. He brushed it off and took it as a friendly joke. "I wish I was good looking like you Ramsey." He smiled. "You know what, i have a sis back home am sure would love u" I said. "Can I see her pic?" was his response. I pulled out my phone and showed him best pics telling him that was my sis. He looked at it for a while then smiled "She would never go out with me Ramsey. Are u sure she is not dating some rich hot guy already. Man your sis is too much for me". I felt flattered and excited at the same time. I was seconds away from telling him that was me and I was a female but I just couldn't.
