                 Episode Eighteen
       Rodney gave them directions and in no time they were at his place. He received them warmly. Jessy quickly hugged and held on tight to Rodney to both the surprise of Rodney and Ruby. "Wow,looks like Mrs Jessy misses me a lot" Rodney smiled. "Yep" Ruby replied,looking at her little girl surprisingly. "Does her mum feel the same way about me too?Do you miss me as much? Rodney said,jokingly. "Huh?...in your dreams" Ruby smiled. "Hahaha,I saw that coming. Anyway have you ladies eaten yet?" Rodney asked,as Jessy released her hold on him. "Yea we ate before coming...Jessy just wants to see you,we will be out of here in no time" Ruby replied.
     "What?come on Ruby,you ladies will have to take something. A few drinks will do even if you have already eating" Rodney smiled. "Come on in" Rodney continued,signalling them to follow him inside. He then offered Ruby a sit in his hall whiles Jessy followed him to the kitchen to get some drinks from his refrigerator. He set the table in his dinning hall with the drinks and then asked Jessy to fetch his mum. Ruby got to the dinning with Jessy,they sat down together at the dinning table,drunk some soft drinks until they couldn't drink anymore. Ruby and Rodney then begun to chat and discuss about some of the changes in their lives. Rodney tried his best to avoid any topics that might lead to the fight they had in primary school. After a few rounds of talking to each other,Rodney suggested they all went to the nearest park in his neighbourhood for a walk,which they did.
        To Ruby it felt like how she had always wished things to be like between Kwame and herself. But she knew he was too busy outside the country for something like that to ever happen. Rodney held Jessy's hands,as they walked through the park. For some reasons Jessy preferred holding hands with Rodney in the park instead of holding her mum's. The trio lost track of time and before they knew it,it was 30 minutes pass 4pm. They quickly returned to Rodney's house, and before Ruby could tell him they wanted to leave Rodney said "Hey Ruby,its getting late and due to the heavy traffic you might face on your way back home,you might not make it in time to cook something good for both you and Jessy to eat...So I was thinkin if you could at least wait a few hours,and then cook something for us to eat. That is if you want to". "Well...I...I don't know" Ruby stammered. "Mummy say yes...say yes mummy" Jessy begged.
        Rodney smiled and winked at Jessy,who smiled back. "I see what is going on here,baby how much did he give you to go along with this" Ruby asked jovially. "Hahaha....So...are You coming in to cook or what?" Rodney laughed. "Depends on what you have" Ruby replied. "Dont worry about that,I went grocery shopping the night before,bought a lot of vegetables and foodstuffs. So you clearly have no problem in that department" Rodney said. They all entered his house. He quickly turned his tv on for Jessy and then went to the kitchen with Ruby to help her out with the cooking. They got into yet another convo whiles they cooked together. "So....what happened to the Rodney I used to know?" Ruby asked. "Rodney you used to know? Am right here" Rodney smiled. "No no no,you are a different Rodney from the one I knew in primary school" Ruby said.
     "Ohhh I see where this is going...hehehe...not today Ruby,I don't want us to ruin this moment with the past" Rodney replied. "Rodney,we can't just forget the past and move on like nothing happened. We need to talk about it and get it out of the way once and for all" Ruby said. "Yea I know,but anytime it comes up your temper goes up with it. I don't want to say something that might piss you off" Rodney replied. "Why did you hit me so hard that day when I pushed you out of the way,knowing clearly I was a girl?" Ruby asked. "Please lets not do this now" Rodney begged.
