        Episode Nineteen
    "I just want to know,that's all" Ruby replied. "Well....I didn't intend to hit you,but when you pushed me I hit ma right knee hard on the desk which was close to me and involuntarily I got angry from the pain I was feeling and hit you...am sorry,very sorry. I wish I could take what I did back" Rodney whispered. There was a moment of silence between the two as they cooked before Ruby said "I hitted you back too. Am sorry". "Come on,don't apologize. It was all my fault. If I hadn't been in your way none of that would have happened" Rodney replied. "No..you are wrong" Ruby said. "I am?" Rodney asked. "Yea you are.....I was....don't laugh ok" Ruby stammered. "Sure I won't" Rodney replied.
     "I was...I was kind of jealous" Ruby said in a low tone. "Jealous?...of What?" Rodney asked,sounding a bit more surprised. "Of you and Naana" Ruby whispered. "Ok,am lost now. I mean why will you be jealous of us?" Rodney asked. Just as Ruby was about to answer, her phone begun to ring. She checked and it was her husband. "I've got to get this" She said to Rodney. "Sure,go ahead" Rodney replied. Ruby and Kwame talked on phone for almost an hour. So Rodney had to finish cooking on his own. With the help of little Jessica,they setted the dinning table and served meals on it gently. Ruby was done with the call afterwards. She quickly joined Rodney and Jessy who were already sitted at the table. They dinned together and conversed in the process. Ruby told Jessy that her daddy will finally be visiting them in a month's time. Jessy was happy to hear that,so was Rodney. Because he wanted to meet the husband of Ruby and the father of the lovely little girl He had grown fond of.
      They then moved on to discuss matters like Jessy's schooling, who picks her up and drops her off at the bank after school and all. Rodney found out that a school bus was what dropped Jessy off each time at the bank. He asked which school it was that Jessy attended and Ruby answered. Rodney smiled and said "That school?I know there. I pass there on my way home. I normally use that route cause its shorter and helps me dodge traffic". "Oh ok" Ruby replied. "Why don't you let me pick her up and drop her off at the bank for you. That will be much better and more safe than the school bus,what do you think?" Rodney suggested. "Ermmm....well..." Ruby tried to speak,as she turned towards Jessy. "Yes,mummy yes...please" Jessy begged. Ruby turned back at Rodney and said "They close at exactly 3pm from Monday to Thursday and 2pm on Fridays. I don't think you can make it,can you?" Ruby asked. "I close from work at 4pm,but hey it won't be a problem. I will pick her up exactly at the time they close,take her back to my office and when its 4pm I'll drop her off at the bank. It's not a big deal" Rodney replied. "No Rodney,that will be a burden on you. I don't want to trouble you" Ruby said.
    "Burden? Come on,I love your daughter as if she was my own. She would never be a burden to me. I don't know why,but I feel connected to her and I would like to pick her up from school for you. That's it" Rodney said. "Mummy please say yes,please" Jessy said. Ruby smiled and said "Ok young lady ok. Rodney,you can pick her up after school. But I will have to tell Agnes her class teacher about it and then introduce you to her and the school security as well". "Yes" Jessy screamed as Rodney high fived her playfully. He quickly turned back to Ruby and asked "So when do we do all that?". "Monday" Ruby smiled. They then continued their meal and when they were done, Ruby and Jessy bid Rodney goodbye,and drove off. Ruby just kept smiling on her drive home,reminiscing the whole experience with Rodney and her daughter so far. To her it felt like her daughter was equally excited to be with Rodney like she is with her. And she could tell her little girl had grown very fond of Rodney.
      The weekend passed by fast. And on Monday,Rodney met up with Ruby at Jessy's school on his way to work. Ruby introduced him to Agnes and the school's securities.
