The Donor Episode Fifteen

               Episode Fifteen
  Everyone who visited to check on the baby and Ruby complimented her for delivering such a beautiful baby. Some of the people who saw the baby said she looked like her mum,others said she looked like Ruby's mum and others said she looked like Kwame. But the moment Ruby's mum held the baby in her arms,she felt like the baby looked like someone she knew who wasn't in the ward. She quickly said to Ruby when they were alone in her ward "Ruby darling,your baby looks very much like someone we know. Am trying to remember who". "Hahaha,oh Maa,she looks like you" Ruby said. "No...no...ahaaaa....I remember who. She looks like a woman in my neighbourhood. Do you remember the boy you had a fight with in primary school?what's his name again?...." Ruby's mum asked.
       "Rodney?" Ruby replied. "Ahaa.Yes him. Your daughter looks a lot like his mum." Ruby's mum smiled. "Come on maa. You can't be serious. Do you even know her that well?" Ruby asked. "Of course I do. When you people fought,remember we were summoned to come to the school to witness you and him sign a bond. I looked at his mum very closely and even had a pleasant conversation with her. She is a very good and understanding woman. And its quite strange that your baby bares an uncunning resamblance to her....Let's just hope she takes after her.Cause that woman is a very decent,respectful woman" Ruby's mum smiled. "Hahaha Maa,you eh,you say certain things oo. Anyway,everyone has their own views on who the baby looks like. So it's normal for you to think that way." Ruby laughed. A few days later,Kwame made sure the whole family,including his wife and baby were flown back to Accra,as he made the hospital in Kumasi transfer his wife to another hospital in Accra.
     Five years passed by, And both Rodney and Ruby had graduated from their various universities and were working. Rodney was working for his dad in his classy car selling garage as his accountant whiles Ruby worked as a cashier in the main head office of a bank named GTB. Kwame had moved back to The States a year after her graduation and has been there since then. Though Ruby hears from him from time to time, she felt a bit lonely and always wished he was by her side.
     Rodney on the other hand has bought a house in a gated community around Kwabenya named Balloons Gate,where he lived alone. He never dated after breaking up with Asabea and had been single since then. He still remembered everything about the donation and knew he possibly had a child out there,but didn't know where or whom the mother was. Ruby, whenever she was alone at home with her daughter who they named Jessica,normally thought of the day she was inseminate with her daughter. She wandered who the donor might be,and even though she knew his name and had his number,she never thought of calling him to find out,because she signed to not disturb and make her child a responsibility to the donor and also not make contact until it was extremely important.
      One day,Rodney's dad sent him to withdraw an amount of money from a branch of GTB. But Rodney chose to go to the head office of the  bank since it was a few miles away from where he lived. He got there an hour to the time the bank normally closed. And fortunately  all the other cashiers were busy attending to other customers except the cashier at the last end whom Rodney couldn't see properly due to where she was. Rodney noticed a little girl in a school uniform sitted on the customers bench in front of the last cashier. "Is that kid alone or what?" He thought as he moved towards her. He slowly sat beside her when he got to where she was seated and smiled. "Are you next?I mean is the cashier attending to you?" He said to the little girl. "No please. I am waiting for my mum" The little girl replied. "Oh ok,and where is your mum? Why did she leave a young beautiful princess like you here all by yourself" Rodney smiled.
